Yiyun Chen

陈以昀博士现任中国科学院上海有机化学研究所研究员、生命过程小分子调控全国重点实验室课题组长,兼容上海科技大学及国科大杭州高等研究院教授。他本科毕业于北京大学,后于普林斯顿大学获得博士学位,随后在哈佛大学与霍华德休斯医学研究所完成博士后研究。自独立开展研究以来,陈以昀博士一直致力于生物相容性光化学方向的探索,专注于发展新型有机光化学反应技术并推动其在生物体系中的应用,取得了多项具有重要意义的研究成果,主要包括:1发现有机硼酸盐类化合物的光诱导迁移反应;2首次将环状高价碘(III)试剂BI应用于光催化反应,系统阐明烷氧自由基在α位点的反应特性,并首次实现甲酰自由基的生成;3​​开发出一系列基于氧自由基与叠氮化合物的生物正交光催化新方法,成功应用于前药激活以及蛋白质与脂质的邻近标记。这些系统性工作为药物研发、疾病诊断与治疗等领域提供了创新研究工具和潜在应用途径,具有显著的学术价值与转化前景。

陈以昀获得的荣誉包括上海市东方英才计划领军项目、国科大优秀授课教师、药明康德生命化学研究奖、中国化学会首届光化学优秀青年科学家奖、国家自然科学基金委员会优秀青年科学基金等。陈以昀任Organic Chemistry Frontiers杂志顾问编委、ChemPhotoChem杂志创刊编委、欧盟研究委员会外部评审专家、中国化学会光化学专业委员会委员、中国感光学会光化学和光生物专业委员会委员、中国神经科学学会离子通道与受体专业委员会常委委员等。

Prof. Dr. Yiyun Chen serves as a Group Leader at the State Key Laboratory of Chemical Biology, Shanghai Institute of Organic Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences. He also holds a professorship at ShanghaiTech University and Hangzhou Institute for Advanced Study, UCAS. Dr. Chen received his Bachelor's degree from Peking University and his Ph.D. from Princeton University. He subsequently conducted postdoctoral research at Harvard University and the Howard Hughes Medical Institute. Since establishing his independent research career, Dr. Chen has focused on biocompatible photochemistry, specializing in the development of novel organic photochemical reactions and their innovative applications in biological systems. His key contributions include: 1) the discovery of photochemically induced rearrangement reactions of organoboronates; 2) pioneering the use of cyclic hypervalent iodine(III) BI reagents in photocatalytic reactions, systematically elucidating the α-site reactivity of alkoxyl radicals and achieving the first generation of formyl radicals; and 3) the development of a bioorthogonal photocatalytic strategy based on oxygen radicals and azide compounds, enabling prodrug activation and proximity labeling of proteins and lipids.

Chen’s academic and research accomplishments have earned distinctions including Shanghai Oriental Talent Leadership Program, Excellent Teacher Award in University of Chinese Academy of Science, WuXi AppTec Life Science and Chemistry Award, Chinese Chemical Society Excellent Young Scholar Award of Photochemistry, NSFC Excellent Young Scholar Award. Chen is the member of the advisory board of Organic Chemistry Frontiers, the founding member of editorial board of ChemPhotoChem, the external reviewer of European Research Council, the member of the board of Chinese Chemical Society Photochemistry Session, the member of the board of Chinese Society for Imaging Science and Technology Photochemistry and Photobiology Session, and the member of the executive board of Chinese Neuroscience Society Ion Chanel and Receptor Session.
